Foster & Kinship Core Training

Foster and Kinship Foster Parent Core Training is a required step in the process to become a certified foster or kinship foster parent. The curriculum covers positive parenting, rules and regulations, the effects of trauma on development, and many other topics. Training is led by staff and includes presentations by individuals experienced in the program.

Core Training occurs over 8 weeks, with class every Wednesday evening from 6-9 PM. Please select the 8 week COHORT that works for you and register accordingly.

Prospective Foster Parents

Prospective foster parents should register for Core Training using the form below after all adults pursuing certification have attended Orientation. fostercare@bouldercounty.org contact us with any questions.

Kinship Foster Parents

Kinship Foster Parents will be guided through this process by their assigned Home Study Worker.
