Create your fishing dream team of one senior and one junior angler and come enjoy a beautiful fall morning fishing together for prizes and fun. Participants need one senior, 65 or older, and one junior, 15 or younger, to fish together as a team. Prizes will be awarded to the team that catches the heaviest trout, has the largest age difference, and are first to catch the limit. Drop by anytime between 9 a.m.-noon. The pond is stocked with rainbow trout; artificial and live bait are permitted. Bring your own fishing gear and lawn chairs for seating. Seniors must have a valid Colorado fishing license. * Please note, the wheelchair accessible fishing pier at Wally Toevs Pond is closed until further notice due to structural issues. Unfortunately, there is no wheelchair access to the shoreline for fishing at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Boulder County 4-H is hosting an Open House on Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. at the Exhibit Building at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont. Families are invited to stop by, meet our youth members and adult volunteers, and explore the many topics kids can dive into through 4-H. From cooking and robotics to animals, gardening, art, and leadership, there are around 45 different areas to choose from. Club leaders and staff will be on hand to host booths and answer questions. Spanish-speaking staff will also be available. 4-H is for 5 to 18-year-old youth, and adult volunteers are always welcome! And despite the rumors, no farm experience is required. This webinar is geared toward candidates/campaign representatives, press, political parties, and city/special district officials - but is open to anyone. This presentation typically lasts 30-40 mins, depending on questions. Boulder County Clerk & Recorder Molly Fitzpatrick will discuss what categories and types of ballots are left to be counted in the immediate days after Election Day and how the process works. Additionally, the webinar will cover the election night results reporting process, results reporting schedule, watcher information, recount scenarios, and Colorado’s election audit (risk limiting audit). This information is especially important if a contest is close. Note: We will record this presentation and post it on our YouTube channel. We're excited to host our next Birding Big Sit at Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat! This inclusive trailhead event allows park users to both stand and sit to watch birds. Spotting scope and optics will be available to borrow and use. This is a drop-in event for anyone who wants to see birds. All ages and skill levels are welcome.
