World Migratory Bird Day is officially celebrated on the second Saturday of May in Canada and the U.S., and the second Saturday of October in Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. This year, World Migratory Bird Day highlights birds from around the world to celebrate the 2026 theme: “Every Bird Counts – Your Observations Matter!” Learn how these species contribute to our understanding of migratory patterns and connect with communities across the globe. Join us on Saturday, May 16, at Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat for a fun-filled day celebrating the incredible journeys of migratory birds and learning how we can all make a difference for bird conservation.
