Birding Big Sit

Lagerman Agricultural Preserve

World Migratory Bird Day is officially celebrated on the second Saturday of May in Canada and the U.S., and the second Saturday of October in Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. Come celebrate World Migratory Bird Day with us at our next Birding Big Sit at Lagerman Reservoir! This inclusive trailhead event allows park users to both stand and sit to watch birds. Spotting scopes and optics will be available to borrow and use. This is a drop-in event for anyone who wants to see birds. All ages and skill levels are welcome. We will be under the shelter near the parking lot. Registration required.Register .tribe-events-c-subscribe-dropdown{display:none;}

Art in the Parks

Pella Crossing 11600 N. 75th St., Longmont

Take time to look at nature through an artistic lens. Experience an opportunity to sketch the awe-inspiring aspects of our county parks through a process of observation, contemplation, and visualization. Absolutely no experience in the arts is needed. Volunteer naturalists will guide your journey with ideas, some direction, and an opportunity to practice various skills. Through a series of five programs, we will explore basic sketching principles to make your experience unique and fun-filled. Programs will be held on the second weekend of the month, from 10 am to 12:30 pm, at either Walden Ponds or Pella Crossing. Registration required.
