Inmate at the Boulder County Jail charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder

Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Sheriff’s Office detectives were called to the Boulder County Jail, located at 3200 Airport Road, Boulder, on a report of an assault that had occurred, in which one inmate sustained serious bodily injuries at the hands of another inmate.

According to the victim and witnesses, an altercation occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. this morning, June 29. The suspect, Stephen Christopher Wolf, D.O.B. 10/13/93, assaulted his cellmate during this unprovoked altercation. The suspect is said to have choked the victim and slammed the victim’s head into the floor.

A deputy at the jail was notified of the fight inside the cell. The deputy stopped the assault and summoned paramedics. The victim was transported to a local hospital due to the serious injuries he sustained during the altercation.

The suspect was charged with the following:

  • Criminal Attempt at 2nd Degree Murder, a class 3 felony
  • 2nd Degree Assault, a class 4 felony

The suspect was arrested for the above charges and remains in custody at the Boulder County Jail. This is an on-going investigation by the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office detectives.
