68-year-old paraglider sustains non-life-threatening injuries

Boulder County, Colo. - On Saturday, June 13, 2020 at approximately 8:45 a.m. the Boulder County Communications Center received a 911 call about a paraglider who crashed into a residence in the 1000 block of N. 119th Street, in the eastern portion of Boulder County. Upon investigation on scene, it was determined a 68-year-old paraglider struck the residence shortly after taking off on his second flight of the day. Witnesses on scene reported he was approximately ten feet off the ground and traveling approximately twenty miles per hour when he struck the residence. The paraglider was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Agencies who assisted with this incident included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Lafayette Police Department, Erie Police Department and Lafayette Fire Department. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board were notified and their response was not required for the incident.
