Unoccupied structure fire in Boulder County, Colorado

Barn a total loss on City Of Boulder Open Space

Boulder County, Colo. -

On April 17th, 2020, at about 5:00 p.m., the Boulder County Sheriff's Office Communications Center received a report of a barn on fire on City of Boulder Open Space, located in the 6000 block of South Boulder Road, unincorporated Boulder County, Colorado.

Firefighters with the Rocky Mountain Fire Protection District, Louisville Fire Department, Lafayette Fire Department, and the Boulder Rural Fire Department responded along with Rangers from the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks and deputies with the Boulder County Sheriff's Office.

Firefighters contained the fire to just the barn, however, the barn was a total loss. At this time, the cause if the fire is unknown but does not appear to be suspicious. The barn, which is located on City of Boulder Open Space property, was unoccupied when the fire started and no injuries were reported.
