Volunteers needed at Agricultural Heritage Center

Volunteers are needed primarily on weekdays

Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Parks and Open Space is now accepting applications for volunteer tour guides and house docents at the Agricultural Heritage Center (8348 Ute Highway 66) in Longmont.

Volunteer tour guides and farmhouse docents teach visitors at the Agricultural Heritage Center about the agricultural history of Boulder County between 1900 and 1925.

Tours at the farm showcase historic barns, granaries, a silo, milk house, garage, a working blacksmith shop, farm animals (during the busy season), and a 1909 farmhouse decorated with furnishings from the period.

There are also opportunities to assist with our story time and Fun on the Farm programs during the summer.

Details:
Volunteers are needed primarily on weekdays to lead tours for school groups, and we also need house docents for weekends and special events. House docents focus on greeting visitors and giving tours of the farmhouse.

Application deadline is Feb. 28. Contact Jim Drew to obtain an application.

Training takes place March 15, from 9 a.m.– 4 p.m.

For more information please visit www.BoulderCountyOpenSpace.org/ahc or contact Jim Drew at 303-776-8688 or jdrew@bouldercounty.org.
