Boulder County, Colo. – Wildfire Partners is launching the next phase of its Youth Helping Underserved Individuals and Communities program, building on the success of this summer’s partnership with TEENS, Inc.

Starting September 15, Mile High Youth Corps will lead wildfire mitigation projects in Boulder County, continuing the Wildfire Partners mission of helping residents reduce their wildfire risk and improve home resiliency. This work is made possible through funding from the Wildfire Mitigation Sales Tax Fund.

Throughout the fall, youth crews will work in Boulder County communities, including Allenspark, Coal Creek, Lafayette, and Louisville. They will complete projects improving individual and community wildfire resiliency. Their work will focus on creating defensible space around homes and communities, with tasks ranging from juniper removal, debris cleanup, and constructing noncombustible gravel barriers.

“We are excited to continue this momentum with Mile High Youth Corps,” said Ellie Stanton, Wildfire Partners Youth Program Specialist. “By expanding our reach this fall, we can serve more communities, help more homeowners, and provide young people with valuable workforce experience in wildfire mitigation.”

The fall season follows an impactful summer with TEENS, Inc., where crews provided free mitigation services to over 40 homes, including two mobile home communities.
