Falls Prevention Saves Lives

Join us for programming throughout September and beyond

Boulder County, Colo.- Falling is not a normal part of aging. The Boulder County Area Agency on Aging, alongside the Boulder County Partners for Falls Prevention, are happy to host programming across the county throughout September to help you and your loved ones learn how to prevent falls. Falls remain a leading cause of injury for people aged 65 and older. Falls threaten your safety and independence and generate enormous economic and personal costs. If you are already exercising on a regular basis, keep it up! If you haven’t been active in the last few years, don’t worry. But remember to check in with your doctor before starting to find out which types of exercise are best for you. Join us to learn the many ways you can protect your health this September through Falls Prevention Month!

County-wide programs include Think First to Prevent Falls, A Mindful Approach to Falls Prevention, pain management, balance tests, falls safety, Tai Chi, Cumbre de Mujeres, and more.
