Boulder County, Colo. - On August 12, 2025, at approximately 12:51 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center received two Apple Alert SOS notifications from the area of 33000 Boulder Canyon Dr. A short time later we received a 911 call where the reporting party stated that they had found a male who appeared to be deceased.

Boulder County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded along with Boulder County Parks and Open Space rangers, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks rangers, and American Medical Rescue. Upon arrival they found an unresponsive male on the east side of Boulder Falls. The male was pronounced to be deceased on scene by first responders.

Sheriff’s office detectives, a crime scene investigator, a drone operator, an emergency services coordinator, and the Boulder County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene. Due to the complex terrain features, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group was called to help recover the decedent’s body.

The Boulder County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death, as well as release the identification of the decedent after notification to the next of kin. Currently, the death does not appear suspicious in nature.
