Suspect arrested for small grass fire near Town of Superior.
Boulder County, Colo. - On July 3, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Boulder County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a small grass fire near the 45-mile marker of US Highway 36 (southside) in unincorporated Boulder County. The grass fire was between the highway and the Saddlebrooke at Rock Creek complex.
Deputies and fire personnel from Mountain View Fire Rescue arrived and found a small grass fire approximately .25 acre in size. The fire was contained and extinguished by members of Mountain View Fire Rescue.
Deputies found a transient encampment nearby and subsequently identified a possible suspect who was in the ditch. The investigation revealed that the fire originated at the encampment, believed to be caused by a cigarette. Alexander Seidel, 37-years-old, was arrested and booked into the Boulder County Jail on the following charge:
- One count of §18-4-105(1)(3)(e), Fourth Degree Arson, a Class 5 Felony
