Boulder County, Colo. – Boulder County Human Services has opened a new Request for Applications (RFA) to support programs and services that improve long-term housing stability for individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), autism, and brain injury. The RFA invites qualified organizations to apply for funding to design, implement, and manage programs that reduce housing instability and prevent homelessness for this population.
About $500,000 in funding for the RFA is made possible through the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Mill Levy, first approved by Boulder County voters in 2002. This funding will help fill gaps in housing services that don’t get enough support from state or federal programs. It also aims to create more fair and equal opportunities for everyone.
This RFA is guided by the findings of the Boulder County Needs Assessment, which identified stable, affordable housing as a critical need for people living with IDD, autism, and brain injury. Completed in 2018, the assessment emphasized the importance of accessible housing information, personalized support for independent living, and long-term housing stability. Additional input came from outreach to historically underserved groups, including community members of color and aging caregivers.
All questions about this RFA or the application process must be submitted via email to IDDfunding@bouldercounty.gov by May 8, 2025, at 5 p.m. (responses will be posted on the Boulder County IDD Mill Levy Program website by May 15, 2025). If you need help in another language or an accommodation, please email IDDMillLevy@bouldercounty.gov as soon as possible.
Interested organizations can find the full application instructions and materials at boco.org/2025IDDGrants. Complete applications are due by Monday, June 2, at 5 p.m.
