Grassland Fire Extinguished Near 3700 Diagonal Highway

No injuries or structures impacted

Boulder County, Colo. - On February 2, 2025, at approximately 4:35 PM, the Boulder County Communications Center received a call of a Grassland Fire in the area of 3700 Diagonal Highway. The fire was estimated to be approximately 20X20 feet in size.

Personnel from Boulder Fire, City of Boulder Police Department, City of Boulder Open Space & Mountain Parks (OSMP) Rangers, Lefthand Fire, Mountain View Fire, Boulder Rural Fire, Boulder Mountain Fire, Colorado State Patrol, Multi-Agency Fire Investigation Team (MAFIT), BNSF Railway and Boulder County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident. Assisting fire department agencies extinguished the flames at approximately 5:02 PM

A transient encampment was located near the burned area. Investigators from MAFIT and BNSF responded after the fire was extinguished to assist with the investigation. The cause and origin of the fire is still under investigation.
