Community Action Programs’ People Engaged in Raising Leaders is Holding a Winter 2025 Boards and Commissions Training

Residents are encouraged to apply to join the Next PERL Boards and Commissions Cohort Today

Boulder, Colo. - Boulder County Community Action Programs invite residents to apply to participate in the People Engaged in Raising Leaders’ (PERL) winter 2025 Boards and Commissions Training. Residents who are passionate about the community and looking for opportunities to get involved should consider joining a board or commission. PERL program’s upcoming Boards and Commissions Training is taking place from February 25 to March 6, 2025, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-7 p.m. virtually.

The PERL program works to diversify local boards and commissions by increasing the involvement of diverse and underrepresented populations, including people of color and low-income individuals. Learn more about administrative boards and commissions in government and non-profits and develop the skills to express political agency and make a change. Connect with opportunities for civic involvement and network with other likeminded community members.

  • WHEN: Tuesdays and Thursdays, February 25, 27 and March 4,6
  • TIME: 5-7pm
  • WHERE: Virtual via Microsoft Teams

The Boards and Commissions training covers topics including boards roles and responsibilities, board applications and interviewing, board culture and survival strategies, board oversight/management, cultural/effective communication, and Robert’s Rules of Order. Guest speakers include representatives from boards of government agencies, local organizations, and the Office of the Boulder County Commissioners.
