Boulder County, Colo. – Boulder County Elections is expanding Vote Early Day events again in 2024, partnering with four great Boulder County organizations / businesses. Intercambio, Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA), Avery Brewing are returning as event hosts, and new this year is an event with the Association for Community Living (ACL) in Longmont. All events will be held on Vote Early Day, Tuesday, October 29.

Vote Early Day, first celebrated in 2020, is a nationwide movement of over 2,700 election administrators, nonprofits, and businesses that aims to ensure that Americans know their options for voting early so that last-minute problems do not stop them from casting their ballot.

At these events, voters can drop off their mail ballots, pick up a special limited edition “I Voted Early” sticker, register to vote / update their registration*, ask voting process questions of elections staff, and get election swag (while supplies last). Additionally, at all four events, Boulder County Elections will be collecting nonperishable food items for donation to EFAA. Interested community members can drop off donations when they stop into our events.

• 12 – 2 p.m. – Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA) – 1575 Yarmouth Avenue in Boulder
• 4 – 6 p.m. – Association for Community Living (ACL) – 624 Coffman St in Longmont
• 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. – Avery Brewing – 4910 Nautilus Court North in Gunbarrel

“ACL is looking forward to hosting our first Vote Early Day event with Boulder County Elections,” said Ailsa Wonnacott, Executive Director of ACL. “Since the 1960s, ACL has promoted and protected the rights of community members with intellectual developmental disabilities (IDD) to be fully included in all aspects of community life. Voting is a fundamental right, and we are excited to partner with Boulder County Elections to create an opportunity for people with IDD to interact directly with elections staff and ask questions about the voting process.”

“Intercambio’s first Vote Early Day event was in 2023 and we wanted to continue to highlight how important it is to vote,” said Norma Fuentes, Intercambio’s Director of English Programs. “Many of our students are new citizens and empowering them to vote is critical. Having Boulder County Elections on site for Vote Early Day to collect ballots, answer questions, and underscore how important your vote is in each and every election is such an opportunity that we were delighted to host them again.”

“For more than 100 years, EFAA has worked with the most vulnerable people in our community, helping them move towards stability and resilience,” reflects Julie Van Domelen, EFAA’s Executive Director. “Voting is a way we all make our voices heard and influence change. Voting early helps ensure nothing stands between you and the ballot box, so we are excited to host a Vote Early Day event again this year. We are also grateful to Boulder County Elections for hosting a food drive during these events.”

Adam Avery, founder of Avery Brewing Company, is also excited to bring a Vote Early Day event back to their Tap Room and Restaurant in Gunbarrel. “Avery continues to partner with Boulder County Elections for Vote Early Day and by having a 24-hour ballot box at our location. These are two great ways for us to support our community while helping to make voting easy and fun,” Avery said. “Come join us on October 29, bring your ballot, and then sit back and enjoy a pint while watching the sun set over the Flatirons. What could be better?”

Finally, RTD announced it will offer a Zero Fare to Vote day on Vote Early Day as well as Election Day to remove a cost barrier for people to travel on RTD to cast their ballot. * There is no voter registration deadline in Colorado. However, the deadline to register and be mailed a ballot is Monday, October 28. After October 28, voters can still register and vote, but must visit a Vote Center in person to request a ballot.
