Boulder Canyon Trail Closures Begin Monday, Oct. 7
A large section of the Boulder Canyon Trail will be closed Oct. 7-25, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for repairs. Part of the trail has narrowed due to erosion. A support structure will be added to stop the erosion and return the trail to its original width. The trail will be closed between the east bridge and the west underpass. The closure is necessary because crews will be using heavy equipment, and there is no safe way for users to get around the construction area.
The western end of the trail will also be closed as early as Monday, Oct. 7. That section will be closed 24/7 as part of the City of Boulder’s Chapman Drive Trailhead project. The project will include a new pedestrian bridge connecting the Boulder Canyon Trail to the Chapman Drive Trailhead across Boulder Creek. The Chapman Drive Trail will be open during trailhead improvement work, which is expected to continue through the end of the year.
