RELEASE #1

Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public’s Help in Arson Investigation

Boulder County, Colo. - The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating an arson case and urgently needs the public’s assistance with identifying the person responsible.

On the evening of July 4th, at approximately 11:30 PM, a burglary and arson incident occurred in the 24,000 block of Highway 7, between Lyons and Allenspark. The suspect, a male, ignited one structure and attempted to set another on fire. The blaze spread to the ground and neighboring trees, posing a risk of a wildfire.

Firefighters from the Allenspark Fire Protection District, Lyons Fire Protection District, Lefthand Fire Protection District, and Boulder Emergency Squad responded and were able to extinguish the fire before it escalated.

The suspect is described as a white male, possibly with a tattoo on his inner right forearm, and was wearing a hat bearing the logo of the band Suicidal Tendencies. He appeared to be armed with a revolver and a knife.

We are releasing three photographs of the suspect and ask anyone with information related to this case to come forward. Our case number is 24-03291.

We are asking the public to use caution and not attempt to contact this person. If you know this person or have information, please contact the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office at our non-emergency number 303-441-4444 or call 911 if it’s an emergency. Detective Arehart is assigned to the case.
