Replacement Ballots and Ballot Services
Replacement Ballots
Did your ballot not arrive in the mail?
Ballots for the 2025 Coordinated Election will mail on Friday, Oct. 10. We ask that you wait at least one week before requesting a replacement. If it’s been more than a week and you haven’t received your ballot, here’s what to do:
- Double check the address on your voter registration record. Frequently, voters forget to update their address when they move.
- If your address is incorrect, update your address
- If it’s on or before Friday, Oct. 27, a new ballot will be automatically mailed to you at your updated address
- If it’s after Friday, Oct. 27, you will need to come into one of our Vote Centers to request a replacement ballot
- If your address is correct, give our office a call at 303-413-7740
- If it’s on or before Friday, Oct. 27, we can help you get a replacement ballot mailed to you
- If it’s after Friday, Oct. 27, you will need to come into one of our Vote Centers to request a replacement ballot
Did your ballot get damaged?
You may request a replacement ballot be mailed to you by calling our office at 303-413-7740 no later than Friday, Oct. 27 (sooner is better!). After Oct. 27, you’ll need to go to a Vote Center to receive a replacement ballot.
What happens to your old ballot?
When a replacement ballot is issued, the old one will be voided. If you have your old ballot, simply tear it up and recycle it.
Other Ballot Services
Did you just register to vote?
If you just registered to vote and it’s on or before Friday, Oct. 27, you will automatically be mailed a Boulder County ballot for the 2025 Coordinated Election. If it’s after Oct. 27, come into any Vote Center and we can print out a ballot for you.
Traveling in October / November?
Whether you’re a snowbird who leaves Boulder County in October, a student studying abroad this fall, or will be away from home for any other reason during election season, you can still vote in the 2025 Coordinated Election. You have a few different options for getting your ballot wherever you will be located.
- Pick up a mail ballot early: You can pick up a mail ballot anytime Monday to Thursday* from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 22 until Vote Centers open Monday, Oct. 27 for full voting services. Simply come in to our main office at 1750 33rd Street in Boulder.
- Alternative mailing address: Local/stateside ballots begin mailing Friday, Oct. 10 and ballots cannot be forwarded by the postal service. However, Boulder County Elections can mail your ballot to an alternative address. Simply update your voter registration record with an alternative mailing address. When you access your voter record, the first address is your residential address (your legal residence). If you don’t want your ballot mailed there, simply add a mailing address below this option (second address – no need to put anything in the third address area). Just remember to set a personal calendar reminder to update it after the election.
Traveling internationally?
We recommend you pick up your ballot and vote early. But if you cannot and would like to receive your ballot while traveling internationally, you can vote as an overseas voter. When updating your registration, you’ll see a question labeled, “Are you any of the following?” Select the option labeled “An overseas civilian voter who is eligible to vote in Colorado” and then follow the additional prompts about how you would like to receive your ballot. Learn more about this option on our Military and Overseas Voters page. Ballots begin mailing to overseas/military voters on Friday, Sept. 19 and continue to be mailed as registration changes are received.
*Our office is closed Fridays and will also be closed Monday, Oct. 13 for Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
