32-year-old man arrested for Third Degree Assault, False Imprisonment, and Child Abuse

The incident occurred in the 6100 block of Baseline Road

Boulder County, Colo. - On September 12, 2023, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of a suspicious incident that occurred near the 6100 block of Baseline Rd in unincorporated Boulder County.

The juvenile victim reported that she was walking on a path when she was grabbed and pushed down by a male on the walking trail. She was able to kick and push the male away while screaming for help. She was able to escape and call 911 to report the incident to the Sheriff’s Office. She described the suspect as a 20–30 year-old, bald white male, wearing a hoodie and tan pants.

Boulder County Sheriff deputies immediately responded to the area and were able to locate a suspect matching the victim’s description. An investigation continued and deputies were able to arrest 32-year-old Cole Priest.

Based on the investigation to date, sheriff’s office investigators believe there may be additional victims and witnesses to the crime. Priest is currently being held at the Boulder County Jail on the Charges of Third-Degree Assault (M1), False Imprisonment (M2), and Child Abuse (M1).

Agencies who assisted with this incident include the Boulder Emergency Squad and the Boulder Valley School District.

The associated Boulder County Sheriff’s Office case number is 23-05039.

As in every criminal case, these charges are merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty.
