Commissioner Marta Loachamin appointed to Colorado Workforce Development Council
Governor Jared Polis appointed Commissioner Loachamin to represent local government
Boulder County, Colo. -- Boulder County Commissioner Marta Loachamin has been appointed to the Colorado Workforce Development Council (CWDC), the public-private partnership which advises, oversees, and integrates the work of the Colorado talent development network to meet the needs of employers and workers. In her role on the council, Commissioner Loachamin will represent the perspective of local government. She joins three other new appointees to CWDC, who will represent the business community.
“I’m excited to use my professional experience in the housing, education and entrepreneur space to support the work of the Colorado Workforce Development Council,” said Commissioner Loachamin. “As a member of the council, I’ll be able to elevate the fantastic work being undertaken by Boulder County and learn from local government and private sector partners from across the state. Boulder County has not been represented in the past ten years on the state council, and I look forward to participating in these crucial conversations about supporting Colorado’s workforce while pursuing equitable outcomes for all.”
Commissioner Loachamin will bring experience from over two years as a Workforce Boulder County (WfBC) Development Board member. The county’s Workforce Development Board serves in an advisory capacity to Workforce Boulder County, whose mission is to drive employment and education opportunities that enrich individual growth, economic health, and community connection. The board is responsible for identifying regional workforce development needs and creating a comprehensive strategy for meeting them while considering the region’s economic development priorities.
