Boulder County Planning & Permitting is excited to announce the US Highway 287 Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Feasibility Study is now available for public review at www.boco.org/287planning. The plan focuses on recommendations for transit-related service enhancements and capital investments along US 287 from Longmont to US 36 in Broomfield to provide additional options for people to get where they want to go.

The community is invited to review and comment on the plan, share what is important moving forward, and provide additional suggestions for the US 287 project team.

Over the past 18 months, the US 287 project team has worked with local communities and agency partners to identify opportunities to improve the transit services along the US 287 corridor connecting Boulder County, City & County of Broomfield with communities in Larimer County as well as connections to Downtown Denver.

The US 287 BRT Feasibility Study is considered a first phase study with a second phase, Vision Zero Safety and Multimodal Mobility, anticipated to start this Fall. The US 287 BRT Feasibility Study was co-funded by Boulder County and the City & County of Broomfield. Additional partners include the City of Longmont, Town of Erie, City of Lafayette, Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), the Regional Transportation District (RTD), Denver Council of Regional Government (DRCOG), Federal Transit Administration (FTA), Commuting Solutions, Smart Commute Metro North, Broomfield Chamber of Commerce and Longmont Chamber of Commerce. Additional assistance was provided by the City of Fort Collins, Town of Berthoud, City of Loveland and the North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization.
