Injured Hiker Rescued on Devil’s Thumb Trail

Boulder County, Colo. -

On Saturday July 03, 2022, at approximately 15:20 PM., the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a female that was that has an injured ankle on the Devils Thumb Trail, Boulder County Colorado.

Nederland Fire Protection District (NFPD), Boulder County Open Space Ranger and members of Rocky Mountain Rescue Group (RMRG) all responded. The party was contacted about two miles up the trail. The 31-year-old female from Westminster Colorado was able to start hiking down with assistance from two NFPD. They were met by RMRG who then gave her a ride out on their UTV to the shuttle bus stop. She declined any further medical and left with her friends.

Agencies assisting with this rescue included: Nederland Fire Protection District, Boulder County Open Space Rangers and members of Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.
