Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash in Lyons
Single vehicle crash resulted in one fatality
Town of Lyons, Boulder County, Colo. - On the evening of May 26th, 2022, Boulder County Communications received multiple 911 calls about a motorcyclist down in the 500 block of West Main Street in the Town of Lyons. Bystanders, including a physician, began immediate medical treatment on a 24-year-old male and Lyons resident who was reported to have lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a stationary object.
Despite the use of advanced medical interventions, the male was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office and Troopers from the Colorado State Patrol responded to the scene to conduct the investigation, which is on-going. At this time, no other people or vehicles are believed to have been involved in the crash.
Identification of the deceased party, along with the official cause and manner of death, will be determined by the Boulder County Coroner's Office at a later time.
Personnel from the following agencies responded to assist: Lyons Fire Protection District, The Boulder County Sheriff's Office, Colorado State Patrol, The Boulder County Coroner's Office, American Medical Response, Med Evac Helicopters, Hygiene Fire Department, and Boulder Emergency Squad.
