Hiker sustains minor injury on the Royal Arch Trail

Boulder County, Colo. - On Saturday, May 14, 2022 at approximately 12:04 p.m., the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an injured hiker on the Royal Arch Trail.

City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks personnel were first to arrive with the patient followed by Rocky Mountain Rescue Group personnel. After stabilizing the patient, rescuers moved the patient in a litter to the Bluebell Shelter. The 29-year-old female from Broomfield was transported to her vehicle and sought her own medical treatment. The rescue took approximately one hour.

Agencies assisting with the rescue included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, and the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.

The associated Boulder County Sheriff’s Office case number was 22-2169.
