Hiker rescued on the Doudy Draw Trail

Boulder County, Colo. - On Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at approximately 12:00 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center was notified of a hiker experiencing a medical emergency on the Doudy Draw Trail.

An eighty-six year-old male from Boulder, CO experienced a medical emergency while hiking with his daughter. Rocky Mountain Rescue Group and Mountain View Fire Protection District provided a ¼ mile litter evacuation to an awaiting ambulance. Mountain View Fire Protection District provided medical care and ambulance transport to an area hospital. The rescue lasted approximately one hour.

Agencies assisting with this rescue included: Mountain View Fire Protection District, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
