Boulder County, Colo. - On November 18, 2020, members of the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and Boulder County Computer Forensics Lab executed a search warrant in the 200 block of Mohawk Circle, Town of Superior.

Detectives assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding illegal internet activity at this residence, specifically relating to child exploitation material. Detectives found multiple occupants in the residence and through interviews and subsequent searches of electronic devices identified one of the occupants as the suspect, 49-year-old Ronald Eugene Williams.

Forensic examinations of Mr. Williams’s electronic devices indicate he was using anonymous chat applications and a dark web browser to conduct his illegal activity. Williams often posed as a single mother on these chat applications to distribute, receive and exploit illegal images from other users. There were over 8,000 known child exploitation images and videos found on devices belonging to Williams.

Williams was arrested for six counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child (possession with intent to distribute), a Class 3 Felony on December 4, 2020.

Based on interviews and information discovered during the investigation’s detectives do not believe members of the community were victims of Mr. Williams.

NCMEC’s CyberTipline is the nation’s centralized reporting system for the online exploitation of children. The public and electronic service providers can make reports of suspected online enticement of children for sexual acts, extra-familial child sexual molestation, child pornography, child sex tourism, child sex trafficking, unsolicited obscene materials sent to a child, misleading domain names, and misleading words or digital images on the internet.
