Hiker rescued from the Bluebell Spur Trail

Boulder County, Colo. - On Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at approximately 11:54 a.m., the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a 42-year-old female, from Lafayette, Colo., who had injured her ankle while hiking on the Bluebell Spur Trail southwest of the Chautauqua Meadow.

Rescuers hiked into the area and located the female. American Medical Response (AMR) personnel treated the patient’s injury, and members of the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group packaged her in a litter and carried her to the ambulance where she was transported to her vehicle. The patient then sought medical care on her own.

The rescue took approximately one and one half hours.

Agencies assisting with this rescue effort included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, American Medical Response, and the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks.
