Boulder County, Colo. –Boulder County Elections and Avery Brewing Company are teaming up to host a Vote Early Day event in Boulder County on Saturday, October 24. Vote Early Day is a nationwide movement of over 2,300 election administrators, nonprofits, and businesses that aims to ensure that Americans know their options for voting early.

At this event, voters can drop off their mail ballots in the newly installed 24-hour Ballot Box at Avery Brewing, pick up an “I Voted” sticker (even if they already voted), sign-up to register to vote (last day in Colorado to mail ballots is Monday, October 26), ask election-related questions of staff (from a comfortable 6ft distance), and get Vote Early Day memorabilia and a Boulder County Elections “Vote” face mask (while supplies last). Clerk and Recorder Molly Fitzpatrick and members of the elections staff will be present.

  • What: Celebrate Vote Early Day with Boulder County Elections
  • When: Saturday, October 24, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. No RSVP required.
  • Where: 4910 Nautilus Court in Gunbarrel. To reduce the risk of COVID-19, this will be an outdoor event. All attendees will be highly encouraged to wear face coverings and practice social distancing.

“We are thrilled to simultaneously celebrate Vote Early Day and the new 24-hour Ballot Drop Box at Avery Brewing,” said Clerk Molly Fitzpatrick. “While we encourage voters to cast their ballot when they are ready, voting early has many advantages. For voters, voting early helps stop campaign phone calls and texts. Additionally, it gives a voter ample time to address any signature issues that may have been discovered with their ballot envelope (for example, missing signature or signature discrepancy) so their vote can be counted. For our office, early voting helps us process ballots over a longer period, which leads to a more complete set of results on election night.”

“When the Clerk & Recorder’s office first approached us about putting in a 24-Hour ballot box to support the community, it was a no-brainer,” said Adam Avery, founder of Avery Brewing Company. “Our success in the craft beer industry is because of our Boulder County community and anything we can do to support civic engagement and give back in this manner is something we are committed to as a company. Additionally, we loved the idea of promoting voting early, so we welcomed the idea of hosting Boulder County Elections staff to support this event.”
