Female hiker evacuated from Skunk Canyon Trail

Boulder County, Colo. - On Friday, October 9, 2020, at approximately 2:23 p.m., the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a call requesting assistance for a 42-year-old female from Aurora, CO who took a stumbling fall, injuring her head. She and her companion were returning from a hike on the Skunk Canyon Trail when the accident occurred.

Rescuers used the NCAR/Skunk Canyon Trailhead to access the patient. After her injuries were stabilized, rescuers evacuated her in a wheeled litter to an AMR ambulance who transported her to a local medical facility.

The rescue took approximately one hour.

Agencies assisting with this rescue effort included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, City of Boulder Fire Department, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountian Parks and American Medical Response.
