Extension of referral period for Docket SI-20-0003: Gross Reservoir & Dam Expansion

The Director has granted an extension to the referral agency review period until November 13, 2020, at 4:30 p.m.


Boulder County, Colo. - The Boulder County Community Planning & Permitting Department received requests from several referral agencies to extend the referral agency review period for Docket SI-20-0003: Gross Reservoir & Dam Expansion. Article 8-508.C.1.b of the Boulder County Land Use Code allows the Director to grant an extension to the referral agency review period. The Community Planning & Permitting Director, Dale Case, has granted an extension to the referral agency review period until November 13, 2020, at 4:30 p.m.

This extension has been granted in order to provide additional time for referral agencies and the public to review the submitted application materials. The application materials can be found through a link on the Gross Reservoir Dam Expansion Proposal webpage.

Please note, while the County encourages community members to submit comments prior to November 13, 2020, the County accepts public comment continuously until the date of public hearing. All public comments that are received before one week prior to the public hearing are included in the staff recommendation packet that is forwarded to the reviewing body (e.g., the Planning Commission or Board of County Commissioners). Public comments received during that week prior to the public hearing are forwarded to the reviewing body and acknowledged during staff's presentation.

No public meetings or hearings are currently scheduled, but notices of future meetings or hearings will be sent to the Gross Reservoir Expansion Project news list (sign-up for email or text notices) and published as legal notices.

Background

The Board of Water Commissioners for the City and County of Denver, aka “Denver Water,” has applied for a planned expansion of the Gross Reservoir Dam in southwest Boulder County. The reservoir resides entirely in unincorporated Boulder County, where the County has land use planning jurisdiction.
