Oxeye Daisy Removal in the Mountains

Project Date: Wed, August 9, 2023 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Opportunity Type: One-Time Volunteer Opportunity
Department: Parks & Open Space
Category: Open Space, Environment, and Gardening

Near Nederland

Program Summary:

Join us for an invasive plant removal project in the mountains near Nederland! We’ll be working on a closed property that holds historical significance and is currently closed to the public. It’s a special opportunity to contribute to conservation efforts and explore this unique area. Don’t miss out on this chance to make a difference!

We will be hand pulling oxeye daisy, which is taking over the meadows in that area and outcompeting native wildflowers. We will also be using machetes to cut thistle back.
Our goal is to help stop the spread of seed in the area.

I will email you directions of where to park once the registration has been finalized.
