Program Summary:
Using native, locally adapted plant material in ecological restoration brings diversity and resiliency to the Boulder County landscape that we know and love. Our native plants are adapted to Boulder County’s unique soils, precipitation patterns, and extreme elevation gradient, so these plants are hardy! In order to use our local, ecotypic plants in restoration, often we need to collect their seeds from our local wildlands. That’s where you come in! We will learn to identify our plant, Western Wheatgrass, then hike over the hills together in search of its seed. We’d love to have you on this project!
