Native seeds are the bee’s knees!
Using native seeds in ecological restoration is essential to building resiliency and diversity in our special ecosystems. This is where you come in!
Volunteers will help BCPOS’s restoration efforts by hand-collecting the seed of a variety of plants, including grasses, sedges, wildflowers, shrubs and trees over the course of the summer and fall! Agency botanists will be on-site and provide plant identification during the project.
Minimum age is 5 with adult supervision. Staff will continuously monitor seed development at a variety of open space areas, so the exact location of projects will be determined about three – seven days before the event. We’ll communicate project details to registered volunteers within that time frame.
Registration is required through Discover Boulder County, Parks & Open Space’s volunteer and event registration system. If you’re new to the system, you’ll need to create an account. But it’s easy and we only use your contact information to communicate about events you register for. We will never sell or give your information to a third party.
