State Highways 119 and 52 Multimodal Intersection Improvements

Intersection of State Highways 119 and 52On behalf of the Northwest Mayors & Commissioners Coalition and Commuting Solutions, Boulder County is submitting a federal funding application to advance multimodal transportation improvements for the SH 119 corridor, focusing on the “pinch point” of traffic congestion in the corridor which is the intersection of SH 119 and SH 52. This request leverages funding from CDOT, RTD, Denver Regional Council of Governments, and local communities.

The SH119 & SH52 intersection project includes construction of operational and safety improvements to improve travel time and reliability for people using all modes of travel and freight/goods movement, plus transit-related infrastructure for existing and future SH119 regional transit, and bicycle and pedestrian connections to/from transit stops and local destinations.

This project advances our regional and state priorities for Vision Zero safety and provides sustainable, affordable, and equitable transportation choices for travelers throughout Boulder County as well as commuters from the broader Front Range and metro area.
