Ride-Along Program

Ride-Along Program

The Sheriff’s Office offers a Ride-Along program for community members wishing to observe firsthand the duties of a Deputy or Animal Protection Officer.

The program is available to participants between the ages of sixteen to eighteen, with parental or guardian approval, and to those over the age of eighteen, subject to the completion of a Waiver of Liability Form.

Restrictions

There are some restrictions in participation: applicants with a significant criminal history, or who are deemed to pose a potential hazard to the deputy, the public, or themselves, may be disqualified. A criminal history check will be completed upon receipt of the waiver of liability form.

Community members are limited to one ride-along every six months.

Applications

If you are interested in participating in a Ride-Along, please fill out the waiver linked above and email it to the program coordinator: cweinheimer@bouldercounty.gov or call 303-441-4894 if you have questions.

A Sheriff’s Office supervisor will review the application, and the program coordinator will let you know if your ride-along request has been approved. Completed applications may take up to a month to be reviewed and scheduled.
