Referral Agencies
The Planner assigned to process your application will compile the Referral Packet using submitted application materials along with county-created maps and a cover letter. This Referral Packet is then sent to Referral Agencies. For a Site Plan Review application, Adjacent Property Owners (APOs, or property owners within 1,500 feet of the property under review) will not receive a full Referral Packet, but any member of the public may request a full referral packet at any time. For an Expedited Site Plan Review application, property owners immediate adjacent to the subject property will receive a complete Referral Packet.
- All applications are referred to the following list of Referral Agencies:
- Boulder County Long Range Planning Team
- Boulder County Development Review Team – Access & Engineering
- Boulder County Assessor
- Boulder County Attorney’s Office
- Boulder County Parks & Open Space Department Natural Resource Planner
- Boulder County Public Health Department
- Boulder County Sheriff
- Boulder County Treasurer
- Local Fire Protection District(s)
Other Referral Agencies will be selected by the assigned Planner based on the characteristics of the proposal under review (such as site location, proximity to environmental resources, or type of use proposed). Planners make the Referral Agency selection by choosing from the Referral Agency List, which is periodically updated; in some circumstances, it may be necessary to send an application to agencies which are not included in the list. Referral Agency responses are submitted directly to the planner but are typically forwarded to the applicant and are available to the general public.
