Perimeter Control Measures

Installation
The most commonly used perimeter control measures are sediment control logs (aka wattles) and silt fence. Boulder County follows Mile High Flood District (MHFD) criteria. The MHFD installation details for sediment control logs and silt fence have been provided below for easy reference along with the links to the full details.
Perimeter control measures must be in place before commencement of any earthwork and remain until vegetation has established and final stabilization has been achieved. Diligent maintenance of the perimeter control measures is required for them to remain effective and function as designed. The MHFD details provide information on maintenance as well as outlining the difference between the perimeters controls that may be useful in site selection.
