Noxious Weeds & Invasive Species Integrated Pest Management & Control

The Boulder County Community Planning & Permitting office at 2045 13th St., Boulder is open to the public on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments are available on Tuesday but are not required. Schedule an appointment.

Integrated Pest Management & Control

Noxious weeds and invasive species can be managed using a combination of control methods. View State of Colorado Noxious Weed program for more information.

Mechanical

  • Remove seed heads
  • Hand pull
  • Mow

Cultural

  • Overseed with native plants
  • Reduce grazing intervals to encourage plant regeneration. Get assistance with grass and vegetation establishment by contacting CSU Extension.

Biological

  • Release beneficial insects which feed only on targeted noxious weeds

Chemical

  • Herbicide application
