Your Brain on Good Food event, rescheduled to Thursday, May 9, in Boulder

Boulder County Area Agency on Aging event focuses on the nutrition needs of seniors

Boulder County, Colo. - The Boulder County Area Agency on Aging is hosting Everybody’s Table: Your Brain on Good Food!, a countywide event to address the nutrition and food needs of seniors. Learn how what you eat affects your emotional wellbeing, and can prevent and manage conditions from depression to dementia. Originally set for March, this event was rescheduled to May 9 due to weather.

What: Your Brain on Good Food! Nutrition event for older adults
When: Thursday, May 9, 9 a.m.-noon
Where: Boulder Jewish Community Center, 6007 Oreg Ave, Boulder
Cost: FREE to attend but registration is required

Eating well is important for everyone’s health and quality of life, and can be especially important for older adults. Learn about the services and resources available to Boulder County seniors and their caregivers from organizations focused on nutrition, food, and related services. A special panel discussion on nutrition for senior adults will feature:

  • Dr. Christopher Lowry, CU Integrative Physiology
  • Dr. Tom LaRocca, CU Integrative Physiology
  • Dr. Ilene Naomi Rusk and Dr. Pat Harper, The Brain and Behavior Clinic
  • Donna Feldman, MS, RDN, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

There is no cost to attend the event but registration is required on Eventbrite.

This event will showcase many of the options now available in Boulder County including meal services, local food pantries, free nutritional counseling, food-assistance programs, and a resource fair featuring local organizations that contribute to good nutrition for older adults in Boulder County.
