Suspect Arrested for First Degree Assault After Early Morning Stabbing
Boulder County, Colo. - The Boulder Police and Fire Communications Center received a phone call just after 1:00 a.m. on April 25, 2026, regarding an assault that had taken place at 5505 Valmont Road, in unincorporated Boulder County.
The caller indicated that a family member had gotten into an altercation and was subsequently stabbed, causing serious bodily injuries. The victim of the stabbing was transported to a local hospital to receive medical care. He has since been released from the hospital.
The suspect, 35-year-old Manuel Hernandez Garcia, fled the scene. He was later arrested and was booked into the Boulder County Jail. He has been charged with First Degree Assault (C.R.S. 18-3-202(1)(a)), a Class 3 Felony.
The following agencies assisted with the incident: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder Police Department, Boulder Fire Rescue, and Falck Ambulance.

As in every criminal case, these charges are merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty.
