Suspect Arrested After Barricading Himself in a Residence on Rock Creek Parkway in Superior

Boulder County, Colo. - The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of several other agencies, executed a search warrant in the 2300 block of Rock Creek Parkway, in the Town of Superior last night to locate Michael David Turner, date of birth 06/30/80, who was wanted on multiple felony warrants in relation to an incident that took place on September 30.

The sheriff’s office has been attempting to locate Turner and received information that he was in the residence on Rock Creek Parkway last night. Shortly after 5:00 p.m. last night we went to the residence in an attempt to arrest Turner, but he quickly barricaded himself inside the residence.

During last night’s incident, several neighboring residences were evacuated for their safety, and have since been let back into their homes.

Turner was arrested at approximately 5:30 a.m. this morning after the 12-hour standoff. He was arrested and transported to a local hospital to be medically cleared. He is in the process of being booked at the Boulder County Jail this morning.

One Boulder County Sheriff’s Office deputy was injured during the entry into the residence and was medically cleared.

Turner is being booked at the Boulder County Jail on the following charges:

  • 2nd Degree Assault
  • 2nd Degree Burglary
  • Domestic Violence
  • 3rd Degree Assault
  • Violation of a Mandatory Protection Order
  • Menacing
  • Child Abuse (x2)
  • False Imprisonment
  • Obstruction of Telephone Service
  • Criminal Mischief
  • Harassment

The following agencies assisted with this incident: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder County SWAT team, Boulder Police Department SWAT team, Broomfield Police Department SWAT team, Boulder Emergency Squad, and Mountain View Fire Rescue.
