Small Wildfire in Boulder County Contained by Firefighters
A quarter-acre fire in Carriage Hills was suppressed overnight
Boulder County, Colo. - On December 1st, 2022 at approximately 10:24pm, the Boulder County Communications Center received a 911 call of a wildland fire in the 500 block of Cutter Lane, in the Carriage Hills neighborhood of unincorporated Boulder County. Numerous emergency personnel responded to the scene and began suppression of an approximately quarter-acre fire burning in a wooded, mountainous area during a high wind event, with sustained wind speeds of 25-50mph gusting to 60mph.
The fire was suppressed and contained just after midnight on December 2nd. Firefighters will remain on scene overnight to monitor the situation.
No structures were threatened, no evacuations were performed, and there is no threat to public safety.
Agencies that responded to the fire included: The Boulder County Sheriff's Office, Boulder Mountain Fire Protection District, Lefthand Fire Protection District, Mountain View Fire Protection District, Boulder Rural Fire Rescue, Lyons Fire Protection District, and Sunshine Fire Protection District.
The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation. The case number for the incident is 22-06066.
