Relaunch of Free Mountain Rides Fixed-route Service between Ward and Rollinsville
Fare-free Scheduled Bus Service Launches, connecting Ward, Mud Lake, Nederland, and Rollinsville on Wednesdays and Thursdays
Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County’s Mountain Mobility Working Group, in partnership with Via Mobility Services, Peak to Peak Housing and Human Services Alliance, and Mobility for All, is announcing the relaunch of Mountain Rides.
Mountain Rides is a free fixed-route service between Ward and Rollinsville that operates on Wednesdays and Thursdays to connect mountain residents to human services programs, shopping, health and recreation activities, senior lunches, food pantry and clothing closet. The service will help address basic needs transportation for residents struggling to access essential services due to transportation gaps between mountain community along a portion of the Peak to Peak Highway.

Wednesdays and Thursdays: 10:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

There are many more destinations and activities within walking distance from the Mountain Rides stops: Mental Health Partners, Columbine Family Care, Clinica, Carousel of Happiness, Caribou Shopping Center, Nederland Library, Tungsten Village, Chipeta Park, Nederland Community Center for pickleball, weights and cardio workouts to name a few.
Details
- No reservations, passes, or fare is required to use the free Mountain Rides service.
- Leashed dogs are welcome on the service.
- Bikes are not allowed on the shuttle due to a lack of bike racks.
- Service connects to RTD NB route between Nederland and Boulder at the downtown Nederland/ RTD Park-n-Ride.
- Masks or facial coverings are not required to ride the shuttle, but passengers who would feel more comfortable wearing a mask are welcome to do so.
