Boulder County, Colo. - The latest CO 119 Safety, Mobility & Bikeway Improvements Project Update from CDOT includes information on an overnight closure of eastbound Jay Road at Highway 119 on Thursday, April 10. View the CDOT travel alert.

To get construction alerts, including closures and detours that will affect cyclists, motorists and pedestrians, follow these steps:

  • Go to the CDOT Construction Updates sign-up page.
  • Enter your email address in the Set Up Subscriptions box, and click Submit.
  • Scroll down and click on Northeast Colorado.
  • Check the box for CO 119 Safety & Mobility Improvements.
  • Scroll down and click Submit to start receiving updates.

Project Information

Construction on the CO 119 Diagonal Highway Safety, Mobility and Bikeway Project project is expected to be completed in 2027. The completed project will include:

  • Improved safety for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.
  • Faster and more reliable bus service.
  • Bus Rapid Transit between Boulder and Longmont.
  • Park-n-Rides at 63rd Street and Niwot Road.
  • Bus stops at CO 52.
  • Safety improvements at many of the intersections.
  • A nine-mile-long paved bikeway.
