Boulder County, Colo. - The Public Works Department will close a portion of North 51st Street just west of Boulder Reservoir starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, September 18 in order to safely replace an aging culvert system that carries Dry Creek #2 under the road towards the reservoir. View a map of the project location and road closure extents. The road will be closed to all travelers through December.

Access to the Boulder Reservoir West Trailhead will be maintained at all times, but visitors will need to enter from the north by using North 55th Street. Access to the Eagle Trailhead for Boulder Valley Ranch and Boulder Model Airport will also be maintained at all times, but visitors will need to enter from the south by using North 51st Street.

The roadway portion of this project is expected to last through December, weather permitting. Crews will return in the spring of 2024 to conduct environmental restoration to the surrounding land.
