Mulch fire causes shed to become fully engulfed

Boulder County, Colo. -

At approximately 1449 hours on June 16, 2022 the Boulder County Communications Center was notified of a shed which was on fire in the 1400 block of Wicklow St, Boulder County, CO. The Nederland Chief of Police was in the neighborhood on unrelated matters and was on scene within minutes of the call being received. When first responders arrived on-scene the shed which was in a backyard was fully engulfed in flames. A fence which was near the shed was damaged and a power pole sustained burn damage.

Firefighters from Lafayette Fire and Louisville Fire both arrived on-scene and worked together to extinguish the flames. All residents were checked on by the deputies from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, who learned no one was injured due to this fire. Residents maintained electricity even after the power pole was burned.

A Louisville Fire Investigator stated the fire started in a mulch pile which was near the shed. Currently there is no known cause for the start if the fire.

The agencies who responded to the call were the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, the Nederland Marshall’s Office, Lafayette Fire and Louisville Fire.
