Missing 68-year-old woman found deceased in Boulder Creek.
Boulder County, Colo. - On Monday, June 3, a 68-year-old female was reported missing by a family member who was concerned for her well-being due to health issues, and she was considered to be an at-risk adult.
A search was conducted in the Boulder Canyon and Fourmile Canyon areas, near where her car was located. An Everbridge message was also sent to residents in that area asking people to be on the lookout for the missing woman.
Searchers found a deceased female in Boulder Creek later that day that matched her description, but due to the injuries sustained while she was in the creek, her identification was pending. The Boulder County Coroner’s Office released the identification of the woman this morning as 68-year-old Carolyn Drews, who was the reported missing female.
The death does not appear to be suspicious at this time. The Boulder County Coroner’s Office will release a final determination on the cause and manner of death once their investigation has been completed.
The agencies that assisted in response included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder County Coroner’s Office, Boulder County Parks and Open Space, Boulder Emergency Squad, Boulder Fire-Rescue, Boulder Rural Fire Protection District, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Four Mile Fire Protection District, Front Range Rescue Dogs, and Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.
The associated Boulder County Sheriff’s Office case number is 24-02698.
