Lost Hiker Rescued

Lost hiker rescued from between Bear Canyon Trail and Mallory Cave Trail

Boulder County, Colo. - On Wednesday, December 22 at approximately 5:36 p.m., the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a 34-year-old male that had gotten lost and was not able to find the trail.

A Ranger from City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks using a GPS coordinate received through 911 was able to figure out that the male was between the Mallory cave trail and the Bear Canyon trail. The Ranger was able to find the lost hiker and escort them down to the Trailhead safely. His only complaint was being dehydrated. The rescue took approximately two and half hours.

Agencies assisting with this rescue included: City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks Rangers, and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services.
