Lower temperatures and additional moisture have decreased the fire danger

Boulder County, Colo. - Today, just before 3 p.m., Sheriff Joe Pelle rescinded the Level 1 Fire Restrictions that were in place for western Boulder County. Lower temperatures and additional moisture has decreased the wildfire danger to our community.

Residents are reminded that although the fire restrictions have been rescinded, there are still permit requirements in place for slash burning and broadcast burns, also known as prescribed fires. Permits are available online; at the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters, located at 5600 Flatiron Parkway in Boulder; or at the Sheriff’s Office Fire Cache, located at 3116 Longhorn Road in Boulder. Agricultural burns and campfires are now allowed and do not require a permit.
